Prepping for Texas

April 8, 2024 Written by Mike and Linda Ford  Our next big adventure is a trip to the Palo Duro Jeep Jamboree at Figure 3 Ranch near Amarillo, Texas.   This will be the 9th Jamboree that we have attended and our first time in Texas. Saharacon, our 7-year-old Jeep Wrangler JKU, needed some maintenance this year before she's ready for the trails.  She had a bent rear control arm, all four doors were seized on, the control arm bushings were worn, and she had a leaking front axle.   We also installed a new Stinger infotainment system with cameras on the front and back of the Jeep.  We can't wait to see how it performs on the trail. Working on the doors - AMSOIL MP Metal Protector came through and all the doors were able to be removed, lubed up and put back into place for the season.  We usually leave the doors on all the time, but it doesn't hurt to make sure all the areas are free moving. Next up to get ready is the Ram 3500 Dually and the Lance Camper.  We have less than two

Snocross to Spring

April 7, 2024 Written by: Mike and Linda Ford  After a very mild winter in the upper-Midwest, we had a crazy spring that has been pulling us many different directions. Our AMSOIL Team had the honor to work the AMSOIL Championship SnoCross events in both Elk River, MN at ERX Motorpark and at Spirit Mountain in Duluth, MN. Both of these tracks have been a part of our AMOILS business for the past 18 years. We always enjoy seeing familiar faces, new faces and watching some great racing. In the past, Duluth National SnoCross took place on Thanksgiving weekend and the last time it was held on that weekend in Duluth was in 2019. That weekend was cut short by a massive blizzard that blanketed the Duluth area and halted racing. It took 5 years for SnoCross to make it back to Duluth and it was a great weekend. Instead of starting the season in Duluth, they finished the season there.  2019 2024

Midwest Ride-in at ERX Motorpark

We had a great time over the weekend checking out the Midwest Ride-in @erxmotorpark in Elk River, Mn. The Midwest Ride-in is a vintage snowmobile show like no other snowmobile show. Participants ride to the show, trailer to the show, and ride all around during the event. And it's not limited to just vintage sleds. ERX Motorpark has a vast trail system that all the snowmobiles were able to check out and enjoy. One of our AMSOIL Dealers, @_aplusoils was at the show all three days representing AMSOIL, selling products to participants and meeting some really cool folks. (We'll share more about that) This was a great fun FAMILY event. Our daughter, son-in-law, and grandkids all had a great time. Our grandson even got to drive his Kitty Cat snowmobile. #familytime #snowmobile #vintagesnowmobile #selfemployed #husbandandwife #husbandandwifeteam #supportsmallbusiness #selfemployedlife #amsoildealerstyle #beyourownboss #amsoilambassador #amsoil #enthusiast Follow u

Ways to Prep Your Snowmobile for Winter

Skip to content Toggle navigat  Ways to Prep Your Snowmobile for Winter Jamie Gibson | Oct 08, 2019 8:18 AM Snowmobile maintenance is a huge part of getting your sled ready for winter . Nothing ruins a ride more than a breakdown, so we put together some tips to help you get your snowmobile ready for winter. Check the spark plugs Inspect spark-plug and wire condition. Ski-Doo E-TEC engines require indexing if removed or replaced, so be sure to check your owner’s manual for proper instructions. Replace plugs that appear excessively dirty or worn along with any worn or frayed wires. Inspect clutches and suspension Check clutches, the drive belt and suspension for wear and tear. Greasing and inspecting the suspension components and slides (hyfax) are a great idea. Slides typically have a small line across them indicating when they are worn out. If they are below the line at all, replace them. Items to check in the suspension include loose or worn parts and missing or loose idler wheels.
