Protect Your Vehicle - and the Environment

John Baker |Jul 8, 2015 2:18:00 PM
The environmental benefits of AMSOIL synthetic lubricants are well documented.

Extended drain intervals reduce the amount of waste oil entering the supply stream
Superior volatility resistance reduces oil consumption and air-pollution emissions
Maximum fuel economy reduces fuel consumption and our dependency of foreign oil

However, our commitment to the environment extends beyond our products to our environmental management system, which is registered to the ISO 14001:2004 standard. For example, most of our packaging materials are obtained from responsible sources. Plastic containers are made of post-consumer resins, while cardboard boxes derive from the Sustainable Forestry Initiative, whose benefits dramatically reduce waste (see chart).
We partner with SmartWay® carriers to ship product as efficiently as possible, producing emissions-reduction results equivalent to taking 166 cars off the roads annually. This is accomplished by shipping more weight on every truck and using rail in the form of intermodal freight for long-distance shipments.

We also boast a rigorous recycling program throughout our corporate facilities, recycling the vast majority of materials, including cardboard, used drums, pallets, paper and more. Our recycling efforts are so effective, less than 10 percent of the waste the company generates ends up in a landfill. In fact, the entire 400,000 square foot AMSOIL Center in Superior, Wis., produces only one dumpster load of waste every six weeks. Accordingly, AMSOIL is one of a select few businesses in Superior and Douglas County to have met a set of environmental standards put forth by the Douglas County Recycling Office, earning Landfill_Factoiddesignation as a Count Me Green company.

Other examples of stewardship come in the form of using residual production oil to heat the AMSOIL Center, reducing energy costs. The Center also features a high-efficiency roof and state-of-the-art heating and cooling systems that further reduce energy use. We even converted a large section of asphalt parking lot at the AMSOIL Center to green space.

AMSOIL has always recognized that doing what’s right for the environment not only makes ecological sense, it also improves business. It’s one of the company’s founding principles and will remain so well into the future.

Midwest Ride-in at ERX Motorpark

We had a great time over the weekend checking out the Midwest Ride-in @erxmotorpark in Elk River, Mn. The Midwest Ride-in is a vintage snowmobile show like no other snowmobile show. Participants ride to the show, trailer to the show, and ride all around during the event. And it's not limited to just vintage sleds. ERX Motorpark has a vast trail system that all the snowmobiles were able to check out and enjoy. One of our AMSOIL Dealers, @_aplusoils was at the show all three days representing AMSOIL, selling products to participants and meeting some really cool folks. (We'll share more about that) This was a great fun FAMILY event. Our daughter, son-in-law, and grandkids all had a great time. Our grandson even got to drive his Kitty Cat snowmobile. #familytime #snowmobile #vintagesnowmobile #selfemployed #husbandandwife #husbandandwifeteam #supportsmallbusiness #selfemployedlife #amsoildealerstyle #beyourownboss #amsoilambassador #amsoil #enthusiast Follow u

Ways to Prep Your Snowmobile for Winter

Skip to content Toggle navigat  Ways to Prep Your Snowmobile for Winter Jamie Gibson | Oct 08, 2019 8:18 AM Snowmobile maintenance is a huge part of getting your sled ready for winter . Nothing ruins a ride more than a breakdown, so we put together some tips to help you get your snowmobile ready for winter. Check the spark plugs Inspect spark-plug and wire condition. Ski-Doo E-TEC engines require indexing if removed or replaced, so be sure to check your owner’s manual for proper instructions. Replace plugs that appear excessively dirty or worn along with any worn or frayed wires. Inspect clutches and suspension Check clutches, the drive belt and suspension for wear and tear. Greasing and inspecting the suspension components and slides (hyfax) are a great idea. Slides typically have a small line across them indicating when they are worn out. If they are below the line at all, replace them. Items to check in the suspension include loose or worn parts and missing or loose idler wheels.
